SoftBank Follows Sprint Surge on Earlier Earnings Release: Chart

SoftBank Group Corp. rose in Tokyo trading after Sprint Corp., the U.S. wireless operator it controls, surged the most in two and a half years after saying it would move up its earnings date.

Sprint said Jan. 22 that it would release financial results on Jan. 26, assuaging investor concerns about a turnaround that had sent its stock and bonds to multiyear lows. SoftBank rose as much as 3.0 percent, adding to a two-day rally that is the largest intraday since April 2014.
