Nasdaq Hires Singapore Exchange CIO for Market Technology

  • Caisley starts at Nasdaq as senior vice president in February
  • He will report directly to Nasdaq's CIO Brad Peterson

Nasdaq Inc. has hired Singapore Exchange Ltd. Chief Information Officer Bob Caisley to help oversee its market-technology development, according to an internal company memo.

Caisley will start at Nasdaq in February as senior vice president of market-technology systems and will be based in Stockholm. He will report to Nasdaq CIO Brad Peterson. Caisley has also worked at Sydney-based ASX Ltd. A Nasdaq spokesman confirmed the contents of the memo.

In addition to operating stock and derivatives markets, Nasdaq also sells the technology that supports its trading venues. The New York-based firm’s technology solutions business had revenue of $131 million in the third quarter, compared with $135 million in the year earlier period.

Nasdaq’s market-technology business is run by executive vice president Lars Ottersgard.
