Terror Fears Lockdown Brussels for Third Day

Belgian police detained 16 suspects during searches across Brussels Sunday night amid a heightened terror threat in the city, the federal prosecutor said.

Salah Abdeslam, one of two brothers believed to have been involved in the Nov. 13 terrorist attacks in Paris and now the focus of an international manhunt, was not found during raids, the prosecutor told reporters in Brussels.

Raids were conducted in the capital districts of Sint-Jans-Molenbeek, Anderlecht, Vorst, Jette, Woluwe Saint-Lambert and Schaarbeek, he said. No firearms or explosives were found.
