Peter Parent, the former head of credit sales at Nomura Holdings Inc., will join Guggenheim Partners LLC, according to people with knowledge of the matter.
Parent will oversee credit sales at the firm’s New York-based high-yield trading desk, said the people, who asked not to be named because the hire hasn’t been made public. Patrick Lenhart, who worked with Parent at Nomura, will also join the high-yield sales team at Guggenheim, one of the people said.
Guggenheim spokesman Anthony Lacavaro, Parent and Lenhart declined to comment.
The pair are joining Guggenheim as the firm ramps up its trading business under head of global credit Andrew Schwartz. The securities division hired two other high-yield salesmen as managing directors last month and earlier brought in a director to trade high-yield securities.
Matthew Bagley, a distressed-debt trader who left Royal Bank of Canada two months ago, started at Guggenheim on Oct. 5, according to Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records. Bagley declined to comment.
Parent and Lenhart left Nomura amid a wave of departures at the Japanese bank, people with knowledge of the matter said earlier this week. Sandor Hau, the head of Nomura’s high-yield trading desk and David Austen, a credit trader, left this week those people said.
