ING Groep NV has hired six bankers to its high-yield debt team in London.
Dominique LeMaire will head a newly created venture linking the bank’s lending services and debt capital markets teams, according to an e-mailed statement from Leo Greve, global head of capital markets. LeMaire, who previously headed the high-yield DCM desk at UniCredit SpA, will report to Greve and Krista Baetens, the global head of the specialized financing group.
The Amsterdam-based bank also hired Marta Stojanova as a director from Credit Agricole SA and Eden Riche, who joins as global head of emerging markets and high-yield syndicate. Roberto di Pietro and Catherine Da Silva have been appointed to the sales and trading desk, while high-yield trader Karan Anand will start working at the bank from Nov. 2.
Euro-denominated high-yield bonds have outperformed investment-grade securities in two of the past three years and are on course to extend that to a third year in 2015, according to Bank of America Merrill Lynch index data.
