VW’s Ex-Chief Cuts Ties With Porsche After Emissions Scandal

Volkswagen AG’s former Chief Executive Officer Martin Winterkorn will leave his post running the company’s biggest shareholder at the end of the month, cutting ties with the carmaker amid an investigation into its cheating on emissions tests.

Hans Dieter Poetsch has been named as Winterkorn’s successor as executive board chairman at Porsche Automobil Holding SE, the holding company of the Porsche and Piech families, according to a statement Saturday.
