Mining analyst Justin Froneman said he left Credit Suisse Group AG’s equity research unit in South Africa just over a year after joining the financial-services group.

“I’ll re-emerge in the next few weeks,” Froneman said by phone on Wednesday, without providing further details. Stuart Meyer, a spokesman for Credit Suisse at FTI Consulting, declined to comment.

Froneman joined Credit Suisse in June 2014 after working at Standard Bank Group Ltd., Africa’s biggest lender. He is the son of Sibanye Gold Ltd. Chief Executive Officer Neal Froneman.
