Credit Suisse Group AG hired William Nourse from Deutsche Bank AG to advise financial companies in the U.K., according to a memo sent to staff.
Nourse will start in November and report to Eric Richard, head of the financial institutions group in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. At Deutsche Bank, Nourse was head of investment banking for U.K. insurance companies.
Nourse “brings significant experience in both the U.K. FIG sector as well as the emerging markets,” Richard said in the memo, whose contents were confirmed by a Credit Suisse spokeswoman. “The U.K. continues to be a very active market for FIG and Credit Suisse is committed to further expanding its footprint.”
Chief Executive Officer Tidjane Thiam, who started in July, is reviewing the bank’s strategy as some investors seek cuts to the investment bank’s trading operations, which soak up more capital than the advisory unit.
