South Africa’s Desmond Tutu on Antibiotic Treatment in Hospital

South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu is on a new course of intensive antibiotics that will continue for two weeks in hospital, the Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation said in an e-mailed statement.

Tutu, 83, is in good spirits and not in any pain, and the family is appreciative for prayers and good wishes, the foundation said on Thursday. He won the 1984 Nobel Peace Prize for his opposition to white-minority rule in South Africa, which ended a decade later.
