Real estate developer Don Peebles said he may run for New York City mayor against Bill de Blasio, whom he supported in 2013.
“I’m looking at running for mayor of New York City,” Peebles, chairman and founder of Peebles Corp., said in an interview Thursday on Bloomberg Television.
New York’s quality of life has declined under de Blasio, according to Peebles, 55, who said his “financial success is far greater than I ever dreamed” and that he plans to personally finance his campaign.
De Blasio “has divided the city along economic and racial lines,” said Peebles, who is black.
Peebles Corp. has offices in Manhattan and Coral Gables, Florida.
