Sinking oil stocks and miners sent U.K. stocks down for a fourth day.
Oil producers Royal Dutch Shell Plc and BP Plc fell, weighing on the benchmark FTSE 100 Index, while Glencore Plc dropped 2.2 percent.
The FTSE 100 fell 0.3 percent, after earlier rising as much as 0.5 percent. The gauge posted a 2.5 percent weekly drop.
St. James’s Place rose 1.7 percent after the company was added to the MSCI World Index. Lonmin Plc slumped to a a record low.
The FTSE 250 Index of smaller firms climbed 0.1 percent, while Ireland’s ISEQ Index added 0.3 percent.
