Rwandan Central Bank to Increase Intervention to Stem Franc Drop

Rwanda’s central bank plans to sell more foreign currency to support the franc after it weakened more than expected, Governor John Rwangombwa said.

The franc fell 9 percent against the dollar so far this year, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. “Our projection was not above 5 percent,” Rwangombwa told reporters Wednesday in the capital, Kigali.
