Duke Energy Corp., the largest U.S. utility owner by market value, bought a 20-megawatt solar project in eastern North Carolina. No terms were disclosed.
Duke’s clean-energy arm acquired the facility in Shawboro from Ecoplexus Inc., the San Luis Obispo, California-based unit said Tuesday in a statement. It’s expected to start working by the end of the year, producing enough clean electricity to supply about 4,000 homes. Charlotte-based Duke has 16 solar plants working or under construction in North Carolina.
