Trina to Provide 51 Megawatts of Solar Panels to China Tea Farms

Trina Solar Ltd., the biggest solar manufacturer, agreed to supply 51 megawatts of panels to power tea plantations in southern China.

China Energy Engineering Group Co. will install the panels as part of a project in Yunnan province that may expand to 100 megawatts, Changzhou, China-based Trina said Thursday in a statement. Terms weren’t disclosed.

Trina is supplying panels that have glass on both the front and back, a design the company said is resistant to humidity and pesticides. Deliveries will be complete this quarter.
