Yankees Get Two All-Star Selections, While deGrom Is Only Met

Two members of the New York Yankees were selected for the American League All-Star team, while pitcher Jacob deGrom is the only New York Mets player chosen for the National League squad.

Yankees reliever Dellin Betances will be making his second All-Star appearance. First baseman Mark Teixeira, who was chosen to replace injured starter Miguel Cabrera, has been selected three times as an All-Star.

Relievers Wade Davis and Kelvin Herrera were added to the AL squad, giving the Kansas City Royals an MLB-high six players in the All-Star Game. The Cardinals lead the NL with five All-Star selections.

Reserves and pitchers for the July 14 game in Cincinnati were announced Monday. No member of the Yankees or Mets were selected for the starting lineups announced earlier.
