LaMarcus Aldridge said he will join the San Antonio Spurs. The four-time All-Star center spent the past nine National Basketball Association seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, where he averaged 23.4 points per game this season.
He will sign a four-year, $80 million contact, Yahoo Sports reported.
“I’m happy to say I’m going home to Texas and will be a Spur!! I’m excited to join the team and be close to my family and friends,” the player wrote on Twitter. The 29-year-old Dallas native played college ball for Texas.
He was scheduled to meet with the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns, Toronto Raptors and New York Knicks as well as the Spurs since the free-agency period started on July 1.
