Brent crude oil futures reversed losses in London, gaining as much as 1 percent.
Brent for August settlement increased 60 cents to $63.94 a barrel at 10:24 a.m. on the London-based ICE Futures Europe exchange. The European benchmark crude traded at a premium of $3.22 to WTI.
West Texas Intermediate for August delivery added 22 cents to $60.60 on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Total volume was about 35 percent below the 100-day average for the time of day.
