Updated on

Israel carried out an airstrike on Lebanon’s western Bekaa region to destroy a reconnaissance aircraft, Hezbollah’s television reported, citing a security official it didn’t identify.

The attack took place in Saghbine, about 70 kilometers (44 miles) east of the capital, Beirut, according to Lebanese media. An Israeli army spokesman had no comment.

Israel has conducted several airstrikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon and Syria since the outbreak of Syria’s conflict in 2011.
