Jefferies Said to Hire JPMorgan’s Wilcox to Head U.K. Banking

Jefferies Group, the investment bank owned by Leucadia National Corp., hired Jonathan Wilcox from JPMorgan Chase & Co. as head of U.K. investment banking, a person with knowledge of the matter said.

Wilcox will start in September and report to Dominic Lester, joint head of European investment banking, said the person, who asked not to be identified because the move hasn’t been announced. Wilcox was once head of U.K. equity capital markets for JPMorgan and worked at the New York-based bank for more than 20 years, the person said.

Jefferies has been expanding in London since acquiring Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc’s Hoare Govett corporate broking operations in 2012. Wilcox’s appointment was reported earlier Wednesday by Financial News.
