Northeast Nigerian Town of Bama 90% Destroyed by Boko Haram

The northeast Nigerian town of Bama, recaptured from Boko Haram Islamists militants in March, has been about 90 percent destroyed, Borno state Governor Kashim Shettima said.

“What we have seen today is wanton destruction of all structures,” Shettima told reporters in the town. “All public and private strucutures including clinics, places of worship, houses, markets have been burnt by the insurgents.”
