Cantor Fitzgerald LP hired Steven Gooden in its emerging-markets debt trading business in London.

Gooden joined as a managing director and will focus on central and eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said Sheryl Lee, a spokeswoman for the financial services firm. He will report to Charles Cortellesi and Erich Bauer-Rowe, co-heads of Cantor Fitzgerald’s debt capital markets’ emerging markets division.

Gooden left a similar role at Citigroup Inc. in January. He has also worked for Commerzbank AG and Macquarie Group Ltd, according to his registration with the U.K.’s Financial Conduct Authority.

Cantor Fitzgerald appointed three managing directors in March to its emerging-markets debt sales and trading operations in New York and London. The firm hired Dray Simpson, a former credit trader at Deutsche Bank AG, Alex Yulman who previously worked in credit trading at Morgan Stanley and Michael Barfoot who traded sovereign debt at BNP Paribas SA.
