Twitter CFO Noto Takes Charge of Marketing Amid Search for CMO

Twitter Inc. Chief Financial Officer Anthony Noto is now in charge of marketing at the social-media company, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.

Noto is taking over the responsibility until he can find a chief marketing officer, said the person, who asked not to be named because the information isn’t public.

The lead marketing role has been passed around at Twitter, assigned last year to Gabriel Stricker, the head of communications. In January, it switched to Christian Oestlien in the company’s product department, the person said.

Noto, previously a technology banker at Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and formerly CFO of the National Football League, joined San Francisco-based Twitter in July. Natalie Miyake, a spokeswoman at Twitter, declined to comment. Noto’s oversight of marketing was reported earlier by The Verge.
