Bin Laden Lieutenant Al-Fawwaz Seeks Lesser Term Than Life

A Saudi Arabian man once ranked as a top member of al-Qaeda asked a U.S. judge to sentence him to a term of less than life in prison.

Khaled al-Fawwaz was convicted in Manhattan federal court in February of helping establish a network of terrorists who carried out the deadly 1998 bombings of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.
