ARC Trust V Planning Public Offering, Real Estate Debt Purchases

American Realty Capital Trust V plans to sell shares to the public and will expand its investments to include originating and acquiring mortgages and other commercial real estate debt.

The company, which will be renamed American Finance Trust Inc., expects its stock to begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange in the third quarter, according to a statement on Monday. Until now, ARC Trust V has focused on acquiring net lease real estate.

“Over the next three years, we anticipate a substantial volume of commercial loan maturities with insufficient refinancing options available through traditional sources,” ARC Trust V Chief Executive Officer and President Don MacKinnon said in the statement. “We intend to leverage the company’s scale, management acumen and financial resources to capitalize on these opportunities
