Jordan Spieth Shoots 3 Over in First Round Since Masters Win

Jordan Spieth’s first round since his Masters Tournament victory wasn’t pretty.

Spieth, who captured his first major title last week in record-tying style, shot 3-over-par 74 in Thursday’s first round of the RBC Heritage in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

The 21-year-old Texan had a double-bogey, two bogeys and one birdie at Harbour Town Golf Links and was tied for 95th place in the 126-player field. It’s his highest score since a 75 in the first round of the Cadillac Championship on March 5.

Spieth is playing in his sixth U.S. PGA Tour event in the past seven weeks and honored his commitment to play in Hilton Head after spending two days in New York on a media tour.
