Soliker to Invest $144 Million in Solar Farm in Northeast Brazil

Soliker Brasil, a supplier of components for solar panels, is planning to invest 450 million reais ($144 million) in a power plant in the country’s northeast state of Tocantins.

Soliker expects to participate in Brazil’s April 27 energy auction and will bid on a contract to sell power from a project with 60 megawatts to 90 megawatts of capacity, according to a statement Wednesday on the Tocantins government website.

Soliker, based in Campinas, Sao Paulo state, makes glass used in solar panels.
