Aug. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Etrion Corp., a Swiss renewable-energy developer, is investing about $400 million building and buying solar projects in Chile, according to the local newspaper Diario Financiero.
The company is building two solar projects in northern Chile with a total of 100 megawatts of capacity, Christian Claveria, Etrion’s general manager in Chile, told the newspaper yesterday. Construction is expected to begin next year and will cost about $200 million.
Etrion is also spending another $200 million to acquire a 70 percent stake in a 68-megawatt solar project that will go into operation this year in Chile’s Atacama Desert, the article said.
