Aug. 14 (Bloomberg) -- SMA Solar Technology AG is supplying components for a solar-diesel power plant with a battery storage system in Bolivia.
SMA is providing controlling systems as well as inverters for the photovoltaic and battery units of the 5-megawatt plant being built in the Bolivian province of Pando, the company said in a statement today. It will be the world’s biggest plant of its kind, according to Niestetal, Germany-based SMA. Terms weren’t disclosed.
The unit will provide power to a region that’s not connected to the public utility grid, bolstering government efforts to increase the number of Bolivians with access to electricity, SMA said.
