Aug. 8 (Bloomberg) -- Shannon Erdmann has joined the asset management unit of Guggenheim Partners LLC after stepping down as a manager of commercial mortgage-backed securities at Pacific Investment Management Co. in London.
Erdmann is based in Santa Monica, California and will focus on CMBS at Guggenheim, according to Thomas Mulligan, a spokesman for the company at Sitrick & Co. in New York.
Erdmann spent six years at Pimco, including three years trading European CMBS, commercial real estate debt and equity investments in the money manager’s London office, according to her LinkedIn profile. Jennifer Spivey, a spokeswoman for Pimco in London, wasn’t immediately available to comment on Erdmann’s departure.
Erdmann joined Pimco from Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co., where she was an actuarial analyst, her LinkedIn profile shows. She started her career as a ballerina dancing with the San Francisco and Pennsylvania ballets.
