Aug. 4 (Bloomberg) -- Boralex Inc., the Montreal-based renewable power producer, bought the proposed 14-megawatt Calmont wind-power project in France from an undisclosed buyer for an undisclosed price.
Boralex has been active for several years in France, where wind-power tariffs were reconfirmed earlier this year, Marc Jasmin, head of investor relations for Boralex, said today by phone. He declined to comment on future acquisitions in the country.
The project comes with a 15-year power sales contract with Electricite de France SA. Construction is scheduled to start in the first quarter and be done by the end of the year, the company said in a July 30 press release. Boralex will invest about 25 million euros ($34 million) to complete the project.
