July 31 (Bloomberg) -- Kurabo Industries Ltd., a Japanese fabric maker, will invest 3 billion yen ($29 million) to build a biomass power plant in western Japan.

The 6.2-megawatt plant, which will use wood chips as fuel, will be set up at Kurabo’s factory site in Tokushima prefecture, the Osaka-based company said in a statement today.

Construction will start in December and the plant is scheduled to start operating in April 2016, according to the statement.
