July 24 (Bloomberg) -- Broadwind Energy Inc., a Cicero, Illinois-based maker of steel towers, won an order worth $34 million from a U.S. wind-turbine manufacturer.
The company will manufacture the towers at its factory in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, according to a statement today. The buyer wasn’t identified.
With the order, about two-thirds of Broadwind’s 2015 output has been sold, Chief Executive Officer Peter Duprey said in the statement.
“We are currently in late-stage discussions to fill the remaining 2015 tower capacity,” Duprey said.
