July 3 (Bloomberg) -- The New Jersey Turnpike Authority is warning of delays at the Holland Tunnel out of Manhattan after its westbound Hudson Bay Extension was closed for emergency construction.
The road is closed on the New Jersey side from the tunnel to Grand Street in Jersey City. The closing will be in effect until 3 p.m., the authority said on its website, which didn’t say what repairs were being made.
Tom Feeney, a spokesman for the agency, couldn’t be immediately contacted for comment on the closing.
Drivers were advised to find alternate routes. The delay comes ahead of the July 4 holiday weekend, a busy travel period and three-day weekend for U.S. workers. The stretch is a heavily traveled artery out of New York City.
