June 24 (Bloomberg) -- Toshiba Corp. said it will supply a battery for an energy storage pilot project in the U.K.
The one megawatt-hour battery will be used for a project by the University of Sheffield which will begin in November, the Tokyo-based company said in a statement today.
An energy storage system incorporating Toshiba’s lithium-titanate battery will be set up at a substation in the West Midlands and connected to the grid to manage intermittent solar and wind power, according to the statement.
