June 17 (Bloomberg) -- Wimbledon champion Andy Murray has signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with Standard Life, both parties said in an e-mail.
Scotland’s Murray, who last year became the first man from the British Isles to win the Wimbledon singles title in 77 years, will wear the company’s logo on his playing kit starting from the first day of the Wimbledon Championships on June 23.
“Andy has a social media fan base of over 7 million, a combined worldwide TV audience of over 1.5 billion, and participates in 16-18 tournaments across the globe each year, which will significantly increase the Standard Life Group’s brand exposure,” Scotland’s largest insurer said in the statement.
The fifth-ranked Murray won the U.S. Open in 2012, after clinching Olympic singles gold at the London Games.
