Rangers Lead Kings 1-0 After First Period in Stanley Cup Game 4

June 11 (Bloomberg) -- Benoit Pouliot gave the Rangers their first goal in more than two hours of game time and New York, trying to avoid elimination in the Stanley Cup finals, led the Los Angeles Kings 1-0 after the first period of Game 4.

The Kings, who lead the best-of-seven National Hockey League championship series three games to none, are one victory from capturing their second title in three seasons.

The goal by Pouliot, with seven minutes, 25 seconds gone in the game at New York’s Madison Square Garden, came on a deflection two seconds after the Kings had finished killing off a Rangers power play.

The score was the first by New York since the second period of Game 2 on June 7, a span of 123 minutes, 1 second of game time. The Kings had outscored the Rangers 6-0 in that span, including two overtime periods in Game 2.
