Halep Beats Petkovic, Plays Sharapova For French Open Title

Fourth-seeded Simona Halep beat Germany’s Andrea Petkovic, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) to move to her first French Open final.

Halep, who made the final without dropping a set, will play former champion Maria Sharapova in the championship match in two days’ time.

The Russian earlier came back from a set down to beat Eugenie Bouchard of Canada. Sharapova leads Halep 3-0.
