June 4 (Bloomberg) -- Defending champion Rafael Nadal overcame a slow start against fellow Spaniard David Ferrer to move to the French Open semifinals.
Nadal beat Ferrer, 4-6, 6-4, 6-0, 6-1 on the Court Suzanne Lenglen in Paris. It was Nadal’s first set loss of the tournament.
The eight-time champion is trying to become the first man in the Open era to win the French Open five times in a row. He’ll next play the winner of the match between Wimbledon champion Andy Murray of Britain or France’s Gael Monfils.
