May 29 (Bloomberg) -- The New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks will play a regular-season game in London next season, while the Houston Rockets will take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in Mexico City.
The Jan. 15 game at the 02 arena in London will mark the third time the National Basketball Association has visited the city during the regular season. Its return to Mexico City Arena on Nov. 12 comes after a December game there between the Timberwolves and San Antonio Spurs was canceled because of a generator malfunction that produced smoke inside the venue.
Other teams will play preseason games in Germany, Turkey, Brazil and China, the NBA said in a statement.
The NBA first held a regular-season game in Europe in March 2011, a two-game series in London between the then New Jersey Nets and the Toronto Raptors.
New York first played in London in January 2013, beating the Detroit Pistons. The league returned to the city last January, as the Brooklyn Nets topped the Atlanta Hawks.
