May 19 (Bloomberg) -- Vestas Wind Systems A/S won a 148-megawatt order from First Wind Holdings Inc. in Maine, the Danish manufacturer’s fourth project with the U.S. developer.
The order is for 48 V112 3-megawatt wind turbines, rated a fraction more than 3 megawatts each. It’s the second for Vestas, under a wider 718-megawatt agreement with First Wind announced in December, after the first 150-megawatt deal. Today’s order includes a 10-year service plan.
The machines are due for delivery to First Wind’s Oakfield project in the second quarter of next year, with the project commissioned by the fourth quarter, Vestas said.
