Kings Beat Ducks in Game 7 to Reach NHL Western Conference Final

The Los Angeles Kings used three first-period goals to beat the Anaheim Ducks 6-2 in Game 7 of their National Hockey League playoff series, their sixth straight victory when facing elimination this postseason.

The Kings advance to face the Chicago Blackhawks in the Western Conference finals. The New York Rangers are playing the Montreal Canadiens in the Eastern Conference finals.

Justin Williams, Jeff Carter and Mike Richards scored first-period goals for the Kings last night in Anaheim, California, while goaltender Jonathan Quick made 25 saves.

Anze Kopitar, Marian Gaborik and Tanner Pearson also scored for the Kings, who won the final two games against the Ducks to rally from a three-games-to-two deficit. Los Angeles had lost the first three games in its first-round playoff series against the San Jose Sharks before winning four in a row.
