May 14 (Bloomberg) -- Former New York Jets linebacker Aaron Maybin has retired after spending one season in the Canadian Football League.
Maybin, who was selected 11th overall by the Buffalo Bills in the 2009 National Football League draft out of Pennsylvania State University, had six sacks and forced four fumbles while playing for the Jets in 2011. He was released by the Jets after eight games in 2012.
The 26-year-old Maybin, who also is an artist, played in one CFL game last season with the Montreal Alouettes before joining the Argonauts.
