Kenya Interior Ministry Says 2 of 4 Dead in Car Bomb Are Police

April 23 (Bloomberg) -- Kenya’s Interior Ministry said four people, including two policemen, were killed by a car bomb near the Pangani police station in the capital Nairobi.

The police had intercepted a car with “suspicious” occupants at a traffic light in the northeastern Nairobi area of Eastleigh, home to many Somali immigrants, and were taking them to the police station for questioning, the ministry said on its twitter account.

An attack by gunmen on a Nairobi shopping mall in September led to the deaths at least 67 people. Islamist Somali militants from al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack saying it was retaliation for the deployment of Kenyan troops in neighboring Somalia.
