April 16 (Bloomberg) -- Christie’s International Plc plans to auction vintage wines collected by Sir Alex Ferguson, former coach of Manchester United soccer team, which it estimates will fetch more than 3 million pounds ($5 million).
The sales will include six bottles of Romanee-Conti 1999 Domaine de la Romanee-Conti Grand Cru Burgundy, which together with a signed Champions League shirt from that year, may sell for as much as HK$850,000 ($110,000) and 12 bottles of the 2000 vintage from Pomerol grower Chateau Petrus, priced to sell for as much as HK$550,000, according to an e-mail from Christie’s.
The sales are scheduled for Hong Kong on May 24 and London on June 5, with an online-only auction set to run from June 9 to June 23, Christie’s said.
