April 4 (Bloomberg) -- Noble Group Ltd., Asia’s biggest commodity trader by sales, hired EON SE’s former director of power and emissions trading, two people with direct knowledge of the appointment said.
Tom Sargent, who left Germany’s biggest utility after eight years in 2012, joined Noble in London as a business manager, said one of the people, who asked not to be identified as the appointment is private. Sargent didn’t respond to an e-mail sent today and didn’t answer a call on his office line via the Noble switchboard. Candice Adam, a company spokeswoman, declined to comment when reached today by e-mail.
Noble’s appointment of Sargent follows that of Gareth Griffiths last year. He was previously in charge of merchant trading at EON Global Commodities in Dusseldorf, Germany, and joined Noble in October as global head of power, gas and carbon.
