March 24 (Bloomberg) -- Samsung C&T Corp., Pattern Energy Group Inc. and Capital Power Corp. started construction on a 270-megawatt wind farm in Canada after arranging $850 million in financing.
The K2 Wind Power Project near Goderich, in southern Ontario, will provide energy for about 100,000 homes, San Francisco-based Pattern said today in statement.
The construction loan from 15 financial companies will convert to long-term operational debt when the project is complete in the second half of 2015.
