Malaysian investigators identified one of the two persons who boarded Flight 370 with a stolen passport as a 19-year-old Iranian and said he wasn’t believed to be a member of any terror group.

The Iranian got on board the Malaysian Airline System Bhd. aircraft using the passport of an Austrian, Inspector General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar told reporters in Kuala Lumpur today. Investigators are still identifying the holder of an Italian passport.

The suspects with stolen passports were queried on their visit to Malaysia and were given visas on arrival in the country, investigators said today. The police, who are going through all airport video footage, said the immigration officers had followed all procedures.

The possibility that terrorism may have caused the plane’s disappearance arose after Austria and Italy said passports used by two male passengers were stolen from their citizens. Closed-circuit television footage exists of the two people who used the false passports.
