GE to Supply 213 Megawatts of Turbines for Wind Farms in Europe

March 11 (Bloomberg) -- General Electric Co., the largest U.S. producer of wind turbines, agreed to supply 212.6 megawatts of systems for projects in Germany, France, Scotland and Sweden.

GE will supply 44 of its 2.5-megawatt turbines for wind farms that Juwi AG, Pfalzwerke AG, Max Bogl Wiesner GmbH and Abo Wind AG are developing in Germany, the Fairfield, Connecticut-based company said in a statement on its website yesterday.

GE is also supplying 27 of its 2.85-megawatt turbines for projects in the Picardy and Nord Pas-de-Calais regions of France, which seeks to generate 23 percent of its energy from renewable sources by 2020.

The company also agreed to provide 10 1.6-megawatt systems for SSE Plc’s Langhope Rig project in Scotland and six 1.6-megawatt turbines for the Erikshester wind farm in Sweden.

No terms were disclosed for any of the deals.
