German Olympic Athlete Fails Drug Test at Sochi Winter Games

Feb. 21 (Bloomberg) -- An unidentified German Olympic athlete failed a drug test at the Sochi Winter Games, the national Olympic committee said today in a statement on its website.

The athlete, whose sport wasn’t revealed, produced an “anomalous” reading in the first test sample, the German Olympic Sports Confederation, or DOSB, said on its website today.

The DOSB was informed of the abnormal test reading yesterday by the International Olympic Committee. The athlete’s second sample will be tested and a hearing will be held today before IOC disciplinary committee, the national body said.
