Feb. 12 (Bloomberg) -- The Senate advanced legislation to suspend the U.S. debt limit until March 15, 2015, and now will take a final vote to clear the measure for President Barack Obama’s signature.
The chamber voted 67-31, with 60 needed to move the bill forward. The House passed the bill yesterday, 221-201, with just 28 Republican votes, after Speaker John Boehner dropped demands to attach spending cuts or policy changes to the measure.
